Vilém Postránecký: The charismatic son of a famous actor shines as a producer and actor

Vilém Postránecký follows in the footsteps of his father Václav. He is successfully establishing himself as a producer, director and actor. Although he carefully protects his privacy, thanks to his talent and diligence he won recognition in the Czech film world.

It has been six years since the Czech acting world lost Václav Postránecký. However, his distinctive role and humanity remain in the memory of many. But his legacy is not only film production - his son Vilém is further proof that artistic talent can also be a family legacy.

Family values ​​and strong marriage

Václav Postránecký was not only a popular actor, but also a model of marital fidelity. He spent more than four decades with his wife Helena, a former ballerina. They met when the actor started in the theater and she was still studying. Their relationship remained strong until the actor's death in 2019. Together they raised two children – Lucia and Vilém.

Education and achievements behind the camera

Vilém Postránecký went his own way. He graduated from the Film Academy in Písek, majoring in production, and received the MgA degree. He already shined during his studies – his films Občas Kopas and Vesnice roky were nominated for the Magnesia Award as part of the Czech Lions.

He also worked as the head of filming on the well-known series Černá sanitka and today he is part of the Prague production company AdWood. He is involved in the production of films, commercials and television projects.

Vilém also has experience in acting – he appeared in the film 3Bobule, for example. His father Václav also "appeared" here, at least with his voice. Although he was already seriously ill, his heart made him speak a few sentences. It was the last time he was involved as an actor.

Vilém is not a fan of mediating his privacy. His best-known relationship was with actress Denisa Nesvačilová, whom he met during the filming of the series Vyprávjej. But their relationship did not last long - Nesvačilová later fell in love with director Daniel Pánek. Today, she lives with another partner, while Vilém continues to keep his distance from public interest.
