Miroslav Etzler admits mistakes from the past. Today, he fears that karma will return his stormy years

The actor Miroslav Etzler (59) was among the Czech rioters for many years. Love escapades, infidelities and three divorces made him a character who was often written about more in the tabloids than in the cultural columns. In recent years, however, he changed - he settled down with his younger partner Helena Bartalošová, and with the birth of his son Samuel, he got to know a completely different dimension of life. Nevertheless, he openly admits that the past still haunts him and he fears that one day "karma will pay him back".

Previously vain and self-confident

Etzler confided in an interview with DVTV that he once succumbed to his own vanity. "My vanity grew to such an extent that I thought I belonged to the biggest giants of Czech acting. So I was a stupid and selfish man," he said.

Today, he looks at his career with more distance. "When you step back from bubbling ambitions, you become far more free," he added. Nevertheless, he is aware that he left behind a number of mistakes - especially in relationships and family.

Father of four children, but not with all of them he has a relationship

The actor has been married three times and has four children. He has daughters Magdaléna and Markéta from his first marriage, and he has a son Christian with the actress Zuzana Bydžovská. His youngest child is Samuel, who was born to him by his current partner Helena Bartalošová.

But it was the relationship with his son Christian that never managed to be repaired. "The relationship with my son has not settled down and it will never be good. I am fine with my two children from my first marriage, I just don't know the third one. It will never be good," he admitted openly.

Daughter Markéta and Magdaléna today live rather outside the world of show business, although they speak of their father with respect. Etzler himself admits that he was not an exemplary father during their childhood, because he was completely absorbed by his theater career.

Relationships that ended in infidelity

Etzler's past is connected with several well-known women of Czech film and theater. He was a happy partner and father for a long time alongside Zuzana Bydžovská, but their relationship ended when he fell in love with his colleague Vilma Cibulková.

However, this relationship did not last either. The crash was caused by the actor's affection for the dancer Radka Pavlovčinová. The actor himself says today that the loves of his life were marked by his own inconsistency and ego.

A new beginning after fifty

The arrival of his youngest son Samuel, who he has with his current partner Helena, changed everything. "After turning 50, I got a chance to start over. It's a completely different life. I already know that I'm best at home by the stove," he admits.

Etzler is happy today, but at the same time he realizes that his partner is significantly younger and life can throw twists and turns for him. "I'm ready for him to leave me. What I've done to women all my life will come back to me," he confided.

Secrets surrounding the series Polabí

The actor is currently also working in the series Polabí, where, paradoxically, he stars with Vilma Cibulková - the woman for whom he once left his family. But he kept silent about this cast at home for a long time. "I kept it a secret from my partner for four months. She asked, 'Who plays your wife?' a man - a more responsible father and partner. He is aware of his old mistakes and does not hide by feeling guilty. "I've done a lot of horses, but I consider a few of them to be absolutely essential," he summed up.
