Jan Kraus faces criticism again: Viewers are fed up with his interruptions by guests. "He won't let them talk," they say

Moderator Jan Kraus has been one of the most prominent personalities of the Czech television scene for two decades. The Krause Show still maintains high ratings and a loyal audience. Recently, however, viewers have been speaking up more and more often, who are annoyed that Kraus does not let his guests talk too much. It is said that the tense atmosphere sometimes appears directly during filming.

Experienced presenter who divides the audience

Jan Kraus first shone as the presenter of the program Relax, please, which ran on Czech Television. After his termination in 2010, he switched to TV Prima, where he began broadcasting Show Krause - a program that quickly gained popularity thanks to its typical dry humor, irony and ability to respond quickly.

However, what many consider an advantage, others find annoying. Many viewers feel that Kraus often interrupts his guests, or that he talks more than they do. Criticism was also heard after the recent episode, where the chef Zdeněk Pohlreich arrived.

When Pohlreich did not have time to answer

The well-known gastronomist arrived on the show to talk about the new series of the show Yes, boss!. He talked about the changes in gastronomy and how he himself had changed in the process.

"Times have fundamentally changed and so have I a little. I'm older, more used, but I still enjoy it," joked Pohlreich in the introduction. Although the two men know each other well and the atmosphere seemed relaxed, viewers noticed on social networks that Pohlreich only got to speak sporadically.

"Great interview, Mr. Kraus said 90% of everything, Mr. Pohlreich almost didn't get to speak," wrote one of the show's Instagram fans ironically.

Criticism also comes from guests

Kraus's specific conduct of interviews already in the past some guests also commented. Musician Jordan Haj, for example, said after filming that he felt taken aback:
"When I came to the dressing room, I lay on the floor for about ten minutes and tried to breathe. I felt embarrassed and a little abused," he wrote on his profile.

Agáta Hanychová and Ornella Koktová, who were guests of the joint piece, also described their mixed feelings about their participation. "When we came out, we both said to each other - well, it could have been better," they admitted in the podcast.

The audience is divided

While part of the audience is calling for more empathy and space for the guests, others, on the contrary, praise Kraus' sharpness. The uncompromising style and the ability to maintain control over the interview are said to make the program something unique.

"This is not a classic interview, but a show - and Kraus is simply putting on a show," defends one of the long-time viewers.

Whether the approach upsets or amuses the audience, one thing is certain - Jan Kraus still evokes emotions even after many years, and this may be the key to his success.
