Actress Veronika Khek Kubařová belongs to the most popular faces of Czech film and theater. In her professional and personal life, she has been accompanied for a long time by theater director Pavel Khek, with whom she has been a stable couple for more than ten years. And even though the beginnings of their relationship were full of irony and striptease scenes, today both are celebrating the arrival of a completely new role in life – parenthood.

Love from the stage

They met during their time at the Mladá Boleslav Theater. Veronika had just finished school, Pavel was already directing. The first roles he offered her were said to include a large number of exposed scenes - as she recalls with a laugh, it was the character of a prostitute in the play Miláček. Although it sounded like a challenging start, their professional collaboration grew into a strong bond.

Eternal questions about the child and public reaction

Veronika made no secret of the fact that repeated questions about starting a family often bothered her. "People keep asking when I'm going to have a baby, and it's such a personal thing," she previously said. Speculations spread even when she had a swollen belly at the premiere - one look was enough for some and they immediately congratulated.

After years of anticipation, she finally announced that she and her husband would become parents. They shared the news on social networks shortly before Easter, and the actress is now an expectant mother.

Who is Pavel Khek?

Pavel Khek is no newcomer to the cultural environment. The theater director and current artistic director of the Klicper Theater in Hradec Králové has had a rich career. He studied several fields of humanities, including directing at DAMU, and his work is associated with progressive productions throughout the country. It was Mladá Boleslav, where he met Veronika, that was a turning point for both of them.

The couple has not yet mentioned the gender of the baby, but fans on social networks are already happily guessing. Together, they are looking forward to a new chapter, which will be full of changes - and maybe finally give the actress peace from all kinds of questions.
