Tereza Brodská and her childhood full of twists and turns: Aunt instead of mom, complicated relations with Hanzlík and forgiveness years later

Actress Tereza Brodská, known for example from the series , never described her childhood as carefree. On the contrary – her early years were marked by frequent changes, an unusual family arrangement and, later, strained relations with her mother Jana Brejchová's new partner.

First home: aunt Blanka instead of parents

When Tereza was still a baby, her mother – the famous actress Jana Brejchová – entrusted her to the care of her sister Blanka due to her workload. "I was six weeks old when I moved in with her. I grew up there until I was six years old. I called her mom and her husband dad. They had their own, so I actually grew up as part of another family," Tereza recalled later.

She did not return to her own mother until the second grade - but the change was not easy for her. She felt torn from a familiar environment where she had a sense of security and background.

New love, new rules

When Tereza was twelve, a new man entered her mother's life - actor Jaromír Hanzlík. They fell in love during the filming of the legendary fairy tale Night on Karlštejn. While for Brejchová it was a period of passion and joy, for her daughter it marked the beginning of a difficult coexistence.

"He tried to re-educate me. He didn't speak for a few days - to my mother or to me - and we had no idea why. Only then did he announce that it was my fault, perhaps a poorly cleaned thing. I didn't understand. The stuffy atmosphere was unbearable for me," Tereza confided.

Departure and silence between mother and daughter

After five years, she decided to leave. She found her own apartment and left home. She and her mother never really talked about what happened then. Even the relationship between Brejchová and Hanzlík gradually cooled – two strong individuals, accustomed to their own rules, eventually broke up.

Time heals everything

After years, however, there was a reconciliation. In 2022, Tereza publicly thanked Hanzlík - even at Christmas. She wrote to him on social media, which she later left:
"No matter what we experienced together, I remember those few years with you fondly. It was really not boring with you. Maybe it is because of your strictness that I am independent and independent today."

Tereza Brodská is among respected actresses today. And even though her childhood was not easy, these experiences shaped her the most, according to her.
