Waldemar Matuška's son: A living image of his father, but with a technical focus, he lives in Switzerland

Waldemar Matuška was one of the legends of Czech music, people still like to play his songs and remember his charismatic voice. Although he had a total of four children, it is his son Waldemar Jr. who is often referred to as his "double". However, he lives a different life - he works as a graphic designer and programmer in Switzerland.

Family history and heavy losses

Matuška was known not only for his music, but also for his stormy life, during which he married three times. He had twins with his first wife Jiřina Šťástková, unfortunately both girls died shortly after birth due to a medical error. This tragedy deeply affected the marriage, which eventually fell apart after the birth of their son Miroslav. After the divorce, the sons did not meet for a long time, they only met again when Miroslav was eighteen.

Waldemar the younger – similar to his father, but a different path

The youngest son Waldemar was born in a marriage with Olga Blechová, with whom the singer lived part of his life in Florida. Younger Matuska really bears a resemblance to her father, although instead of dark curly hair, she has light hair. Because of this appearance, he is sometimes stopped on the street by people who mistake him for a famous singer. Waldemar the younger himself admits that he is very proud of his father.

Life away from music

While Waldemar the elder dominated the music scene, his son took a completely different path. He is professionally engaged in graphics and programming. After years spent in the USA, he settled in Switzerland, where he lives with his partner. He sometimes comes to the Czech Republic, where he still has good relations with his mother Olga.

Meeting his brother and family relations

It is interesting that Waldemar the younger and his older brother Miroslav only met after the death of their father. However, they gradually built a close relationship and keep in touch despite the distance. Miroslav liked to fly to Florida to visit his brother, until his health condition did not allow him to continue traveling.

Olga, Waldemar Jr.'s mother, remains an important person for him - he considers her his second mother, although she died before the death of the famous singer.
