Sandra Nováková: Love that started in Lucerne and grew into a solid marriage

Actress has been one of the prominent faces of Czech television since the days of the series Ulice. Although her professional career is often in the public eye, she has long protected her privacy. Today, however, it is known that they form a stable couple with the director Vojtěch Moravec, with whom they are connected not only by family, but also by joint work. Their relationship has an interesting development - from a chance meeting to work collaboration to an unconventional wedding.

The first with a producer

In the past, it seemed that Nováková would settle down with another man. At the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2008, she met producer Jan Nejedlý. After two years of relationship came the engagement, and even concrete plans for the wedding. The ceremony was supposed to take place back in 2011, but in the end it never happened. First there was talk of financial reasons, later it became clear that the relationship simply did not work. The couple broke up at the beginning of 2013.

A fateful meeting with Vojta Moravec

When Sandra reappeared in the company shortly after, the director Vojtěch Moravec was already by her side. They were introduced by mutual contacts from the artistic environment, namely the musician Ondřej Brzobohatý, who arranged for them to meet for the first time at the Barování event. Although they were engaged at the time, the spark jumped instantly. As the actress herself later admitted, "even then it worked between them, even if the circumstances were not entirely easy".

Working together cemented their relationship

Fate played an important role on the professional level as well. When Czech Television was looking for a director for a new project, Nováková remembered Moravka and recommended him. This started their work collaboration, which gradually grew into a personal relationship. They then started creating films and series together, which include, for example, Matky, Hádkovi or the series Under the Surface and Einstein.

Family first

In 2015, their greatest joy came into the world – son Mikuláš. Parenthood has become a priority for both of them, although they do not miss work in television and film. They manage to combine their upbringing with their careers, and according to Nováková, their son has brought great stability to their lives.

Wedding at the Lucerna cinema

The fans had to wait for the official confirmation of the relationship. Nováková and Moravec did not get married until 2022, in a very original way. They connected the wedding with the premiere of the film Hádkovi, directed by Moravec and in which Sandra played one of the main roles. The ceremony took place directly in the Prague cinema Lucerna, which had a symbolic meaning - it was there that they met for the first time years ago.

Today, she and Vojtěch Moravec are perceived as one of the most stable couples on the Czech cultural scene. They are united not only by family, but also by a passion for film and theater. While he stands more often behind the camera, she shines in front of it. And even when her husband casts her in his projects, the audience appreciates that she handles the roles with ease and professionalism.
