Jiří Krampol: A life full of glory, pain and loss. He died at the age of 87

The actor Jiří Krampol, who died at the age of 87, left behind a powerful story full of professional successes, great loves and painful losses. The man with the signature voice he lent to Jean-Paul Belmond has experienced moments of immense popularity as well as private wounds that would have broken many. However, he remained standing with his head held high.

The loves that shaped his life

During his life he went through four marriages. His first wife was the broadcaster Jana Fořtová, with whom he had a son Tomáš. His second wife was the lawyer Hana Suvajdžičová, with whom he had a son Jiří. This was followed by the model Marta, and finally the pedagogic worker Hana Krampolová. Each of these partnerships left an indelible mark on his life.

In addition to his own children, he also took on the role of stepfather – he had a very close relationship with his third son Marta and the son of his fourth wife Hana.

Pain is not forgotten

However, Jiří Krampol's private life was not only about joys. His third son, Honzík, died at only seven months old. He and his last wife, Hana, lost their daughter in an advanced stage of pregnancy – the child died after complications during the collection of amniotic fluid. "It was a blow from which Hanka never fully recovered," Krampol confided in the past. This loss had a significant impact on her health and psyche.

Furthermore, after the divorces, she also lost contact with her own two sons, who were subsequently adopted by their mothers' new partners. Krampol himself agreed to be deleted from the documentation, and contact with the children was completely cut off.

Speculation that he did not stop

In recent years, the public has also speculated about his relationship with the actress Kateřina Bláhová, who later connected her life with the presenter Karel Kašák. But Bláhová vehemently denied any romantic relationship with Krampol and stated that such rumors hurt her very much.

An artistic career full of iconic roles

Jiří Krampol was a graduate of DAMU and worked as an actor in several Prague theaters, including the Na zábradlí Theater and the Na Fidlovačka Theater. He also made a significant mark in the history of Semafor, where he collaborated with Miloslav Šimek.

He left his mark on the film screen and television screens in more than a hundred titles – from Malé pitavala z velke meštų to Bobule to Bastards directed by Tomáš Magnusko. He became a dubbing legend after he took over the role of the voice of Jean-Paul Belmond for the Czech audience after the emigration of Jan Tříska.

The legacy of a man who did not give up

Although Jiří Krampol's life was full of contrasts – fame and solitude, successes and personal tragedies – he never stopped believing in the value of human love, friendship and honest art. His life force and dedication to his profession made him a personality that will not be forgotten.
