Jana Paulová found the love of her life already at nineteen: she has been with her husband Milan Svoboda for over fifty years, their daughter lives in India

Actress Jana Paulová belongs to those Czech stars who, in addition to a successful career, can also talk about great happiness in their personal lives. She and her husband, the musician Milan Svoboda, have been a couple for more than half a century. And they are still smiling as if they met only yesterday.

Love that started at DAMU

When Jana studied acting at DAMU, she was only nineteen. It was then that she met the jazzman Milan Svoboda, who was four years older than her, who literally enchanted her.
"He was a rebel, had long hair, played jazz and was completely different from the men my mother imagined for me," the actress recalled.

My mother was not thrilled about their relationship at the time - she even refused to go to the wedding. "She imagined that I would marry a doctor or a lawyer, not a musician," Paulová added with a smile.

Today, however, she would certainly look at their love differently - the couple has lived together for more than 50 years and will celebrate their golden wedding in 2027.

The secret of a long marriage

According to Paulová, the foundation success mutual respect and space for each other. "My husband is a big football fan. In order for him to have the right experience, I give him a hot dog on a tray, a beer in a cup, and he experiences it at home as if he were at the stadium," laughs the actress. "We make each other happy, even after all these years. Milan is incredibly attentive and often surprises me. When he composed beautiful music for my play, it moved me to tears," she admitted.

Daughter Adéla lives in India and helps children

The couple raised two daughters. Older Adéla decided on a completely different direction in life years ago - she moved to India, where she and her husband help at a school for orphans.
Paul often returns to India, because she was the one who helped start the project. "In the south of India, I met a spiritual master who founded a home for old people. I promised that I would take care of their food as long as I could. And I keep that promise," she explained to Super.cz.

Adéla has an artistic talent like her parents - she plays the sitar, a traditional Indian instrument. Her husband is a drummer, but he makes a living in IT.

Younger daughter returned home

Younger daughter Anežka lived with her family in the Channel Islands between England and France for several years. It was there that her first daughter, Allegra Jana, was born. However, she recently decided to return to the Czech Republic.
"We are expecting a second grandchild and I want to be close so that I can help. I am looking forward to being more of a grandmother than just a visitor," revealed Paulová.

According to the actress, attending school there also played a role. "In Britain, children have to go to school from the age of four, and Anežka wanted her granddaughter to still enjoy her childhood," she added.

Satisfied life with a beloved man

Even after so many years, Jana Paulová and her husband seem like a couple newly in love. They work together, travel together and support each other in what they do. "Milan is my closest person. He can make me laugh even after half a century," says the actress, who the audience loves not only because of Ulica, but also because of her optimism, with a smile.
